Orion – is our first dark roast espresso offering. We sourced this coffee from Guatemala for two years and this year we switched to Honduras.
Its roasted to dark roast level, to develop a body over 25% (development rate) that is not to dark, not too medium.
Perfect Espresso offering if you are interested in some sweet espresso with smooth aftertaste.
This coffee gave us notes of Chocolate (more like cocoa nibs mixed with a little milk) and sweet vanilla notes however the sweetness level and the aroma also reminded me Turkish Pine Honey that I used to eat when I was a kid. For those who are not familiar with pine honey; It is a sweet and spicy honey, with some woody notes, a resinous fragrance, and dark amber color. It is a common breakfast dish in Turkey and Greece, where it is drizzled over yogurt and eaten with bread.
